| Brunero's 63 km Solo Breakaway to Victory
The 19th edition of the Giro di Lombardia October 27, 1923.
Giovanni Brunero (Legnano-Pirelli) rode brilliantly throughout the race. He broke away near Bergamo (187 km into the race / 250 km) and soloed the final 63 km to claim his first prestigious Giro di Lombardia victory.
Brunero’s teammate Pietro Linari (Legnano-Pirelli) finish second 18’37” behind. Federico Gay (Atala) sprinted in for third place.
