Vermandel Repeats Liege-Bastogne-Liege Victory

The 14th edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege was held on August 10, 1924.

Twenty-seven strong riders started in Liege and after a 245 kms journey to Bastogne and back, only fourteen finished the race.

A ten-rider breakaway, including defending champion René Vermandel (Alcyon), Félix Sellier (Alcyon), Emile Masson (Alcyon), Denis Verschueren (Wonder), Maurice Dewaele (Wonder), Léon Devos (Delage), Adelin Benoit (M. Buysse), Jules Matton (Thomann), Albert Bolly (Individual), and Léon Luites (Individual), arrived in Liege to contest for the La Doyenne victory.

The sprint was won by René Vermandel ahead of Adelin Benoit and Jules Matton.

This was Vermandel's second consecutive victory at L-B-L.
