Frenchman Wins L-B-L Re-start
After a fourteen year hiatus Liege-Bastogne-Liege returned in grand style. The re-start was driven by a new promotional-partnership between Liege Cyclist' S Union (LCU) and RC Pesant Club Liegeois. The race was again run as an amateur only race.
Frenchman Andre Trousselier, the younger brother of 1905 winner of the Tour de France Louis 'Trou Trou' Trousselier, rode alone into Liege to win La Doyenne in 1908 and become the first non-Belgian winner of the L-B-L.
