2nd Year Pro Wins Flanders
The 9th edition of the Tour of Flanders was held on March 29, 1925.
Young Belgian Julien Delbecque (21 year 6 months old) broke away from a star-studded field of rider with 150 kilometers remaining. Only Joseph Pe had the strength to join the breakaway. The duo rode into the finish together.
The breakaway rode back into Gent and entered the velodrome together. Julien Delbecque (Armor) led out the sprint, used his closing speed, and held off Joseph Pe (Individual). He rolled across the finish line for the Tour of Flanders victory in 1925.
The young Belgian victor became the youngest winner of the Ronde.
