Fausto Coppi's First Lombardia Victory
The 39th edition of the Giro di Lombardia was held on October 27, 1946.
Fausto Coppi (Bianchi) used a late surge to breakaway from Luigi Casola (Bustese) and Michele Motta (Welter). Coppi rode across the finish line for an impressive 40” victory. The 1946 was Coppi’s first of five Lombardia victories
