Talented Young Frenchman at Lombardia
The Giro di Lombardia was held on November 5, 1911.The race started in Milan and finished in the Township of Sesto San Giovanni (a suburb of Milan).
A talented young Frenchman Henri Pelissier rode prominently in a 14 rider breakaway. Using his superior finishing speed, Pelissier sprinted past defending Lombardia champion Giovanni Micheletto to gain the 1911 Giro di Lombardia victory.
SPECIAL NOTE: 1911 Lombardia winner Henri Pelissier completed a difficult "Italian" double by winning the 1912 Milan-San Remo.
