The prestige of Liege-Bastogne-Liege continued to grow in 1947. A record 168 elite rider came to the start line in Liege. 1943 L-B-L winner Richard Depoorter rode away from very talented neo-pro Raymond Impanis in the final km to earn the L-B-L victory.
