| Big German Beats ALL the Belgians
The 20th edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege was held on May 29, 1930.
SPECIAL NOTE: This edition welcomed professional trade team riders for the first time since 1924.
A breakaway of five riders came into the finish to contest for the victory. German Hermann Buse (Opel) sprinted past Belgians Georges Laloup (Individual) and Francois Gardier (Alcyon-Dunlop) for the 1930 Liege-Bastogne-Liege victory. This was the first victory of a German cyclist in La Doyenne.
SPECIAL NOTE: Hermann Buse became only the second non-Belgian to win L-B-L 22 years after the 1908 edition won by Frenchman André Trousselier. AND this was the first La Doyenne victory of a German rider.
