Iron Briek's Second Ronde
SPECIAL NOTE: The race organizers, looking for a way to increase the importance of the race, entered the inaugural Challenge Desgrange-Colombo. Flanders joined Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, Milan-San Remo, Paris-Roubaix, La Flèche Wallonne, Paris-Brussels, Paris-Tours and the Giro di Lombardia in the 'year-long' competition.
A 25 rider peloton enter the finishing City of Wetteren. 1942 Tour of Flanders champion Briek Schotte out sprinted Albert Ramon and Marcel Rijckaert for the victory.
