Powerful Dutchman Domiates
The 1947 World Championship Road Race was held in Reims, France. The race course was 35 laps of a flat 7.83km circuit.
Dutchman Theo Middelkamp, a WCRR podium finisher in 1936, drove the pace and used a timely counter-attack to gain a 10 second victory. Belgian Albert Sercu won the field sprint ahead of Jef Janssen (Ned).
