Popular Frenchman Escapes on the Hill at Doullens
1904 Tour de France winner Henri Cornet (Fra) attacked on the Doullens Hill and split the lead group. Only Marcel Cadolle (Fra) and Hyppolite Aucouturier held Cornet's wheel. After Aucouturier faded Cornet out sprinted breakaway companion Cadolle at the sold-out Roubaix Velodrome. Henri Cornet gained the prestigous 1906 Paris-Roubaix victory.
