World War 1 Comes to Italy but Lombardia Goes on in 1915
The Giro di Lombardia was held on November 7, 1915. The 232 km race started in Milan and finished in the Villa Torretta section of Milan.
Gaetano Belloni out sprinted breakaway companion Paride Ferrari (Ita) for the 1915 Lombardia victory.
SPECIAL NOTE: 1915 was the first of three Lombardia victories for Gaetano Belloni (1915, 1918, and 1928).
