A Dutchman with Help from a Teammate
A nine rider breakaway rolled into the final 20 kms with a large time gap. 1979 Ronde champion Jan Raas attacked while Raleigh teammate Ludo Peters sat second wheel controlling the chasing pack. No counter-attacks came and Raas rode away.
Dutchman Jan Raas easily rolled across the finish line for the victory. Raleigh teammate Ludo Peters won the field sprint for second place 1’30” behind Raas.
