Final Classification (1 to 43)

The 21st edition of the Tour of Flanders was held March 21, 1937.

This edition of the Ronde van Vlaanderen would be tough. It unfolded in cold rain and high winds. After an aggressive start, numerous attacks split the peloton.

Through the closing kilometers a group of ten riders created the final selection.

Sylvere Maes (Bel), Louis Hardiquest (Bel), Alfons Schepers (Bel), Michel D'Hooghe (Bel), Hubert Deltour (Bel), Adolf Braeckeveldt (Bel), Albert Hendrickx (Bel), René Walschot (Bel), Jean Wauters (Bel), and Albertin Disseaux (Bel) remained to contest the sprint.

When the sprint opened on the finish in Wetteren, last year’s Flanders winner Louis Hardiquest could not find the closing speed and was passed at the line by D'Hooghe and Deltour.

Michel D’Hooghe proved the fastest and claimed the grand Tour of Flanders victory.
