Tour de France 2008: Preview and Profile
Stage 1 - (Saturday) July 5th, Brest to Plumelec, 197.5 Km Flat Stage |
Stage 1: With no prologue to start the 2008 Tour de France the racers jump directly into a hilly and challenging stage 1 course. This is the first TdF to start without a prologue since the short individual time trial's inception in 1967. The stage with a finish line at the top of the Cote de Cadoul offers an opportunity for the climbers a change to take the first Maillot Jaune (race leader's Yellow Jersey) of the race.
