For most of his cycling career, Barry has been NEMRT's designated sprinter and has earned the moniker, "the Bullet" by his teammates. Barry was another NEMRT rider who has captured a District Gold Medal out sprinting a quality field to win the 1992 District Criterium Championship. To his credit he twice won the classic Concord Criterium, once as a 35+ and once as a 45+. Probably one of his greatest achievements and disappointments was his second place finish against tough competition during stage one of the 1993 Killington Stage Race. Leading out from 300 meters it took a photo finish to determine the winner. In addition, he finished in the top twenty at the Master National Championships and raced the World Master Road Race Championships (4 times) in Austria. Barry is one of most respected riders in New England.
