Hyppolite Aucouturier (Fra)

Born: October 17, 1876, La Celle, France

Died: April 22, 1944

Professional: from 1900 to 1908

Hyppolite “the terrible” Aucouturier was a very strong rider with a hulking frame more suited for the pro wrestling circuit than the TdF. Aucouturier never won the overall classification in the TdF but did gain five stage wins. He was the two-time winner of both Paris-Roubaix (1903, 1904) and Bordeaux-Paris (1903, 1905).
