The Madrilenian and Segovian sierras form another tough test for those wanting to reach Madrid . As for those looking for a privileged place on the podium the profile of the stage will not be easy. A short stage, allowing the teams to ride at high speed from the start. The leaders will have to be very careful in a very intense stage. The famous seven bends are after forty kilometers, then the first ascent of the category 1 Puerto de Navacerrada . The category 2 climb of the Puerto de la Morcuera follows at 93 km. A fast descent into Cerceda for the second ascent of the Puerto de Navacerrada. A rapid 22 km descent into the finish La Granja de San Ildefenso will punctuate the stage.
