Big Belgian Sprinter Becomes World Champion
The 1934 World Championship Road Race was held in Leipzig, Germany on the Circuit de Park-Kurs. The race course was 24 laps of a short 9.4 km flat circuit.
Big Belgian sprinter Karel Kaers, noted Belgian kermesse rider, powered past 1932 World Champion Learco Guerro and teammate Gustave Danneels in a close sprint to gain the victory.
