Gardier Solos to Victory
The 1927 winner of the amateur Tour of Belgium, Francois Gardier broke away from the peloton in a fine Ardennes rain and cold temperatures to win the 1933 Liege-Bastogne-Liege Classic. Gardier rode alone into Liege 2'16” ahead of a hard chasing group of 4 riders.
