District Road Race June 14,1992 Masters 45+
NEMRT stays hot in more than one way. The word for the day was attack and chase. The top NEMRT riders attacked a very challenging road course against one of the best masters fields of the year. Early aggressive riding was met with quick response and the field remained in tacked. On the hardest climb Jimmy Fraser, Zephyr, got the pelaton's attention by going to the off the front but the attempt was again met with quick response. As the string of riders pushed over the top of the hill the pack began to thin-out as the pace quickened on the down side of the hill but again nothing could get away from the ever charging pack. As the second lap began the attack became more pronounced with Henry trying to get away with another all out effort. Several small breaks occurred with Steve and Barry chasing anything dangerous. The pack stayed together until Henry and Neil pushed over the top of the Rt. 9, long climb with several others and opened a nice gap. But as before the pack surged after the hill and they caught the short-lived break before the final turn onto Rt. 67. The final miles set up as a sprinters dual. Through the Town of Warren Henry set the pace (several miles from the finish) at a fever pitch as Derek and Steve set up for what would be a classic sprint finish. "Coming down into the line" Derek exploded and burst past Dick Martin to win the gold. Steve, breaking his recent jinx, got out of a boxed-in situation and captured a well deserved 5th. Neil sat in good position and zipped in for 6th. After a great lead out Henry came in at the back of the pack.

Masters Women 35+
The masters women had to start and race with the senior women for their two laps (46 miles). The pace was quick on all the climb as Dorie Bowley, M. Steel, push her climbing leg trying to shake the pack. NEMRT hung tough with the breakaway pack on the second lap and finished in a head up sprint with each other. New comer Ellen Braun-Keller had more speed at the end then team leader Jane Oliver. "It was hot out there today" they both said after the race "but the course was perfect for us."
